Population Density

Oldham County's population per square mile increased from 175.8 in 1990 (10th in the State) to 244.06 in 2000 (8th in the State).  Of the ten most densely populated counties in the Commonwealth,  only Jefferson, Fayette, and Boone Counties absorbed more people per square mile than Oldham County the past ten years.   (Note:  The table below was computed using 2000 population data and 1990 population and land area information from the 1990 Census.  The official table is not available yet from the Census Bureau, but assuming land areas have not changed, the data are accurate).
